Rules for Use of Services in Ghana
These Terms set out the rules that govern use of the official website and mobile application in Ghana. They apply to every account holder and visitor who accesses betting services or places bets from Ghana. By continuing to use the platform, you agree to comply with local legal requirements and platform policies. If any rule conflicts with mandatory Ghanaian law, that law will prevail for users located in Ghana.
General Terms for Account Use and Legal Compliance
- Agreement to Terms: By completing registration, creating an account, or placing a bet, you confirm that you have read and accept these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Responsible Gambling rules, and any bonus conditions.
- Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old and legally allowed to use betting services in Ghana. You may hold one personal account only. Accounts for other persons, or on behalf of persons under 18, are not allowed.
- Changes to Terms: Paripesa may amend these Terms to meet legal, regulatory, or operational needs. Updated Terms enter into force on publication. Continued use of services after changes means acceptance of the revised rules.
- Proper Use of Services: You agree to use the platform for lawful betting on an event and gaming services only, and not to misuse content, interfere with security, automate access, or engage in fraud, collusion, or market abuse.
- Intellectual Property: All site content, odds displays, software, and trademarks are protected. You may not copy, adapt, or redistribute content except for personal, non-commercial use as permitted by law.
- Suspension and Closure: The operator may suspend, limit, or close an account for breach of these Terms, legal obligations, AML concerns, chargebacks, or responsible gambling reasons. Any open bets may be settled or voided based on the circumstances.
- Liability Limits: Services are provided on an as-available basis. To the extent allowed by law, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss arising from telecom failures, or errors outside reasonable control. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited under Ghanaian law.
- Governing Law and Disputes: For users located in Ghana, these Terms are interpreted in line with Ghana law and mandatory consumer protections. You may raise complaints through the internal process before escalation to the appropriate authority.
General Betting Rules, Odds, Bets, and Settlement
- Eligibility to Bet: Only verified users who meet age and legal requirements may place bets. You are responsible for ensuring betting is allowed in your location at the time of the bet.
- Bet Acceptance: A bet is accepted once it is recorded on the server and appears in your bet history with a unique reference. Pending or interrupted transactions are not confirmed bets.
- Markets and Event Rules: Markets, start times, and settlement sources are set per sport and event rules. Official results from governing bodies are used for settlement, subject to specific market terms.
- Odds and Errors: Odds are subject to change until acceptance. If a palpable error occurs in odds, market, or event details, the bet may be settled at the correct odds or voided as per error policy.
- Minimum and Maximum: Stake limits and maximum winnings apply per market and per account. Limits may vary by sport, league, or event and can be adjusted for risk or regulatory reasons.
- Cancellations and Voids: A bet may be voided if an event is postponed, abandoned, or materially altered, unless market rules specify alternative settlement. Multiple bets remain valid for unaffected selections.
- Settlement and Calculation: Winnings equal stake multiplied by the final odds minus the stake if the bet type requires it. For each-way or handicap markets, the relevant rules apply as shown at bet placement.
- Cash Out: Where offered, early settlement values are not guaranteed and may change based on live odds and market status. Technical issues can make Cash Out unavailable.
- Restrictions: You must not place bets after the outcome is known, collude, or use inside information. The operator may restrict, refuse, or limit bets, including bonus bets, to protect integrity.
- Taxes: If Ghanaian tax law requires withholding on winnings, the applicable amount may be deducted before payout. You are responsible for any personal tax reporting.
Payment Rules for Deposits, Withdrawals, and Account Funds
- Funding the Account: Deposits may be made using methods available in Ghana, such as bank cards, bank transfer, and mobile money wallets. Availability, limits, and fees are shown in the cashier.
- Currencies: The primary currency for Ghana users is GHS. If conversion is needed, rates are applied at the time of processing and may include a margin.
- Processing Times: Deposits are usually credited promptly after successful confirmation. Withdrawals are processed after security checks; timeframes depend on the method and any ongoing verification.
- Source of Funds: You should use payment instruments in your own name. The operator may require proof of ownership before processing withdrawals.
- KYC and AML Checks: Before payouts, identity verification may include a valid ID, proof of address, selfie checks, and source-of-funds documents. Incomplete verification can delay or block transactions.
- Withdrawal Rules: Payouts are, where possible, returned to the original funding method. The operator may set minimum or maximum limits per transaction or per day for security and legal compliance.
- Fees and Charges: Any fee, if applicable, is displayed in the cashier before you confirm. Your bank or wallet provider may apply separate fees.
- Chargebacks and Reversals: Attempted chargebacks may lead to account review, recovery of costs, and reporting to relevant authorities.
- Bonus Balances: If a bonus is active, withdrawals may be restricted until wagering requirements are met. Breaking bonus rules can lead to removal of bonuses and related winnings.
- Cancellation of Operations: A pending deposit or withdrawal request may be cancelled where permitted in the cashier. The operator may cancel or pause a transaction to comply with AML or security checks.
- Taxes: Where required by Ghanaian law, tax may be withheld at payout. You remain responsible for any additional taxes on your activity.
Responsible Gambling: Safe Use of Betting Services in Ghana
- Core Principles: Gambling is for adults only. Set a budget for betting and do not bet if it affects your obligations or wellbeing.
- Player Controls: Tools may include deposit limits, loss limits, time-outs, reality checks, and self-exclusion. Contact support to request limits or exclusion suited to your needs.
- Self-Assessment: Review your activity to gauge risk. Warning signs include chasing losses, borrowing to bet, and neglecting work or family.
- Third-Party Blocks: You may install site or app blockers to reduce access to betting services on your devices.
- Support Resources: Help is available from Gambling Therapy, Gamblers Anonymous, and local health services. The Gaming Commission of Ghana provides public information and guidance on responsible play.
- Account Actions: The operator may enforce cooling-off or exclusion where risk is identified. Reopening an excluded account requires a waiting period and a fresh assessment.
Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Rules
- Legal Duties: The operator upholds obligations under applicable AML laws and Ghana requirements, including the Anti-Money Laundering Act and related regulations.
- KYC Procedures: Verification includes collection of identification documents, address validation, and screening against sanctions and politically exposed person lists.
- Monitoring: Transactions are monitored for unusual patterns such as rapid deposits and withdrawals, third-party payments, or use of multiple accounts.
- Suspicious Activity: Where activity appears suspicious, the operator may freeze funds, pause withdrawals, request documents, or file a report to the Financial Intelligence Centre in Ghana or other competent bodies.
- Restrictions and Closures: Breaches of AML rules can result in limits on services, account suspension, or termination. Funds may be held as required by law during an investigation.
- Record Keeping: KYC and transaction records are retained for the period required by law to support audits and investigations.
